Our Pastor and His Wife

In 1975, Brian picked up a hitchhiker who happened to be a member of Spirit of God Fellowship. As a result of that encounter, he was radically saved in 1976. Brian and his wife Patrice have been members of Spirit of God Fellowship for 43 years. Together, Brian and Patrice raised three kids, and now their grandson, in the church. Patrice leads the women's Bible study here at Spirit of God, and has been a long-time volunteer at Restoration Ministries. Today, she is a member of the advisory board for Tabitha House, RMI's rehabilitation program for women. Brian and Patrice are faithful servants, walking alongside many of us, praying with us, and now shepherding our church as it continues to grow.

God has placed Brian on this journey to pastor the church and carry on a wonderful legacy that was left by our church’s founder, John Sullivan. It is a legacy of love, of friendship, and of service to the kingdom of God. Brian is honored to be a part of God’s plan for the church and knows that, just as God was faithful to the church for the last 50 years, He will continue to be faithful and do mighty things in the years to come.

"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ."

1 Corinthians 12:12

Worship Leaders

“We met on a worship team over 20 years ago and have been leading worship together ever since. We have 3 children who are completely awesome, creative, fun and exhausting. We are an Autism family and desire to see the Autism community treasured and valued for the gifts that they are. We enjoy friends, naps, coffee, hiking, sunshine, all-the-foods, and not going to the E.R.  When times get tough we search up 'screaming goat' videos on YouTube and have a laugh. Do it. You’re welcome.”

Production Manager

Paul Woodson has been a part of Spirit of God Fellowship since 1989.  He coordinates the production team, meeting the technical needs for Sunday services and events. Paul is a lover of music and is a band director, trumpet player, and music teacher in Orland Park, IL.  He and his wife, Marge, live right here in South Holland.

Audio Systems Manager

"Since I was always interested in mechanical and technical equpiment (combined with my life for music), I fell into running sound at Spirit of God Fellowship, and it became a big part of my life. I have attended Spirit of God Fellowship for over 40 years, and I am blessed to be able to contribute.

I've always been a huge nature lover, even before it became fashionable. I see God in so much of it and marvel at His incredibly magnificent design."

Youth Leader

"I have been at Spirit of God for about 4 years now. I am the co-youth director for our Youth group (Leaders In Training) along with Pam Banks. I love the down-to-earth teaching and application to the Word of God, and the hands-on faith through serving and loving others approach. A fun fact about me is I once competed in an amateur body building competition. I enjoy writing songs and playing the guitar in my spare time - I picked it up over quarantine!"

Youth Leader

“I have been a member of Spirit of God for about for almost 30 years. I am the fourth oldest of my six siblings, and we all enjoy game nights and traveling together. I’m also a youth leader for Leaders In Training here at SoGF. I am passionate about the youth; it’s enjoyable to see them thrive in their gifts.”

Director of Outreach

“Finding my church home at Spirit of God Fellowship has been life-changing for me. I want everyone to know that SoGF is an amazing place to grow and learn and experience God’s love.”

Alex has worked as a high school English teacher, mental health counselor, journalist, and speaker. She lives in Highland, Indiana, and enjoys spending time with her parents, 10 siblings, 20 nieces and nephews, and her many pets. She also loves reading, writing, and acting, and is excited to use her gifts and experience to further the kingdom of God.

Church Administrator

Mary has been a member of SoGF for over 30 years and has served in many capacities, including house church, premarital counseling, mentoring, Sunday School, and senior ministries. She also helped start Tabitha House at Restoration Ministries.

Mary loves all four pillars of SoGF: outreach, worship, diversity, and community. Her top spiritual gift is administration, making her a great fit for her current role at church. In her spare time, she loves traveling and spending time with her family, including her three children and five grandchildren.

Director of Children's Ministries

“I have been a member at Spirit of God Fellowship for 38 years (literally my whole life). My husband and I have been married for over 14 years. I have a background in early childhood development and was a teacher for 10 years before I became a stay-at-home mom to raise our two beautiful daughters. To me, there is nothing more important than passing our faith on to our children which is why I am passionate about serving in the children’s ministry. In my free time, I love reading, traveling, baking, and most of all taking my dog Gus for walks.”
