Faith Over Fear

Sermon Series:

SUNDAY SERVICE

Faith Over Fear

Fear is powerful. It can be debilitating. It can completely take over our lives and guide our decisions, making us miss out on opportunities we'll never see again.

While fear and uncertainty may grip many of us, God is stronger than fear. Our faith can overtake our fear when we put our trust in God, rather than people and circumstances. Are you ready to put your faith to work?

In this video, Ulises Adames teaches about "Faith Over Fear." Ulises is the leader of our Street Ministry, and he and his wife Gigi have ministered to people in many different ways and places over the past two decades.

Pastor Jose Lopez and his wife Paula have been faithful members of Spirit of God Fellowship for decades. Jose pastors our Spanish-speaking church Espiritu de Dios, and we had the privilege of learning from him at Spirit of God Fellowship as he asks the question "Where's Your Citizenship?"

My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead” (‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬-‭11,‬ ‭NET‬‬).

In this world where we are always looking for answers, Mathew James teaches that "It's Not What You Know; It's Who You Know."

In Matthew 19: 13-15, we read about an interesting moment in Jesus's life.

People brought kids before Him, and while many people wanted the kids to get out of the way, Jesus saw things differently. He told the people to let the children come to Him, and lovingly focused his time and efforts on those children.

The community that we long for is ultimately found in the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God wants us to be one with Him just like He is One with His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Eight years ago, Brian Kamstra's first message as the pastor of Spirit of God Fellowship asked the question, "Are we willing to do whatever it takes to see the lost come to Jesus?"

When we come to Jesus, we are not suddenly where we need to be as a person or as a Christian. In fact, we spend a lot of time trying and falling and getting back up and falling again, and the cycle repeats.
