    Unbelief

     

    From Chapter 6, we read God promises deliverance; however, the people do not believe Moses’s words. In verse 9 we read it was because of increasing discouragement and the cruel bondage the people suffered under.


  • Jealousy & Forgiveness

     

    “Oh, look at how pretty she is! Where did she get those shoes?” 

     

    “Did you see their new house? How can they afford it?”

     

    “Who does he think he is? Our father gave him a new fancy coat and now Joseph’s dreams of ruling over us!”


  • The Temptations of Egypt

     

    In the midst of a nation who did not know the one true God, an Egyptian wife, and the responsibilities to rule over a heathen nation who loved idolatry as their main activity, Joseph still remembered his childhood faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.


  • Running quickly through the woods, Esau kept his eyes on the prize, which was quickly losing blood, for the arrow Esau shot into his prey was effective in slowing down the animal. His hunting partners hiding ahead scared the wounded animal into the deadfall trap, which quickly ended the hunt.  Esau knew his father would be proud of him for once again providing the wild game his father enjoyed eating.
